Andhra Pradesh Housing Board
It was in the year 1960 that the Andhra Pradesh Housing Board had its inception. The body was established under the Andhra Pradesh Housing Act of 1956, by joining hands with the City Improvement Board and Town Improvement Trust of Twin Cities.

The Andhra Pradesh Housing Board was set with the prime objective to help and assist in providing housing and residential accommodation to the poor and the needy. The housing accommodation that is provided by the Andhra Pradesh Housing Board is reasonable. Some of the salient features of the board are:-

Agenda and Aim of the Andhra Pradesh Housing Board:
The prime aim and purpose of the housing board is providing residential solutions and amenities to the ones who are needy at an attainable price. The board thus is involved in the following set of activities:-
- In developing self-financing plans for the MIG and the HIG.
- Development and establishment of multipurpose buildings, commercial complexes, shops, and entertainment outlets to be given on rental services in order to supplement the financial resources of the Board.
- The development of various housing services and sites.
- The establishment and development of houses that are under consolidated and comprehensive housing plans.
- Look into the distribution and allocation of the houses under the LIG, MIG, and the HIG.
The Allotment Process:
There are some processes that need to be adhered to whilst undergoing the allocation:-
- In developing self-financing plans for the MIG and the HIG.
- Development and establishment of multipurpose buildings, commercial complexes, shops, and entertainment outlets to be given on rental services in order to supplement the financial resources of the Board.
- The development of various housing services and sites.
- The establishment and development of houses that are under consolidated and comprehensive housing plans.
- Look into the distribution and allocation of the houses under the LIG, MIG, and the HIG.
The applications for the same will not qualify under the following circumstance:-
- In case an individual owns a house that is located anywhere in the urban agglomerations or areas, within Andhra Pradesh state.
- In case the income is not within the limits for the income ceiling that is fixed by the state of Andhra Pradesh. The income here is calculated as the sum total personal income that is earned regularly by the applicant.
